Shower Time

Lyla recently experienced her first shower. She is a natural bath lover, 

and she seemed to enjoy the shower just as much.

The first picture makes me giggle! Lyla's face is quite comical.

 "Can we help you? Can't you see we're taking a shower here..."

Avianna Kaye

This morning, after much anticipation, we woke up to learn our 

friend was on her way to the hospital to have her baby. 

And as you could imagine, Lyla was just ecstatic for her arrival. :)

The birth of Avianna means Lyla will have a new buddy.

Seriously though, I'm so excited for the weeks, months & years to come,

 as I'm sure these two will make for many memorable moments.

Welcome baby Avianna, we love you!

Lyla is really getting the hang of this wedding business.

We had two weekends in a row of fun wedding day bliss.

Congratulations to Sydney & Rob!

 Lyla, in her typical fashion, making new friends.

She isn't a shy one, in fact, she is becoming quite the flirt.

She always seems to love being around new faces.

It appears this little guy was diggin' her as well. (see above)

This girl makes some of the silliest facial expressions sometimes. 

And I know what you're thinking, omg, family pictures two weekends in a row!?
Yes indeed. We were previously quite forgetful in
that department, but now we are rocking!

My eyes may have watered up after seeing the photo of Lyla and Kirk.

Her little arm on her dad's shoulder....they just look like best buds.

Oh wait, that is because they are best buds and I love it.

 We had a very exciting day, we're so happy for Syd & Rob.

Announcement

I was looking through my camera
and did a double take when I came across picture.
Are those two teeth, I asked myself, as I passed the camera to Kirk.
I continued my investigation by sneaking my fingers inside that little mouth,

and sure enough, sharp edges are poking through those gums.
Kirk is excited because he thinks she will be enjoying steak in no time!
Bittersweet...explains the excessive drool lately...

A Day at the Pool

Lyla had a fabulous time swimming. Seriously, I'm fairly sure she is part fish.

She has a floatation device (pictured below) and she cruises in that thing.
She also loves splashing. Even when I was getting worried about

too much water in her face, she continued to smile!

 I'm thinking about enrolling her in baby swimming lessons.

Yes, those are real. I heard they are offered at the Aquatic Center.

I think she would really enjoy swimming more often

 and with her skills, she just might be the star of her class!

Where is Lyla's dad, you might ask? Oh, he was just golfing with Tiger.
He met back up with us afterwards and we all stuffed our faces with pizza.

We had a fun fun day!

Seven Months Old

We hit seven months!
I guess that means we're officially on the downhill slope of the one year mark.

She is getting so dang funny, her personality is just plain silly.
She owns my heart. She can't get rid of me if she tried.

To celebrate seven months of life her daddy bought
 a package of "whole grain puffed corn snacks...."

uhhh I believe that is Gerber's tricky way of trying to disguise Cheetos.

They dissolve almost instantly, so I like to call them "Diet Cheetos"

But oh well, she is seven months now, I suppose a Cheeto or two won't hurt.
She loved them, by the way...no surprise.

Young Love

Lyla and her boyfriend, Kasyn.
He is a bit older than Lyla, but that's just her style.
We all know older men are more mature anyways, right?
hahaha oh man, that was a funny joke.

As you can see from above, there is some real chemistry between these two.
I promise it was not their idea to get naked in front of each other.

It was a blazing hot day. A real scorcher.

Heck! I wanted to get naked myself.
