65 weeks.
15 months.
the skills & life experience of a 15 month old:
1. i would brag about walking, but we've already moved onto running.
2. she adores babies. (good thing since she'll be a big sis soon)
she has a baby doll and she loves to give her a bottle.
3. she can open doors on her very own. this is no good.
kirk found her standing by the front door with it wide open, ready to bolt.
4. she can flush toilets like a pro.
5. her hair is long enough to wear piggies or a pony.
this is not something she can do on her own, obviously.
but it's a milestone for her hair, ok!
6. her vocabulary continues to grow, including 'kramer' and 'bubbles'
7. if she puts her hands on the ground and her butt in the air,
this is the signal to help her do a somersault.
8. i can't decide if she is a picky eater.
some days she will try everything, others she refuses anything except blueberries.
i try not to over-analyze and trust that she will eat if she is hungry.
9. she likes to dance.
her favorite move is spinning around in circles while humming.
10. she likes to read to herself.
she will grab a book, hop up on the couch & turn the pages as she babbles away.
you would never guess she didn't know how to read. :)
before i became a mom someone told me,
"you will never love your parents as much as they love you."
at the time, that made no sense to me & i strongly disagreed.
i love my mom and dad so much. they can't possibly love me more.
but i think i get it now.
both kirk & i are completely captivated by lyla's every move.
and yes, she loves us too. she knows we take care of her.
but watching her learn & grow up fills my heart to the very brim.
she is so very smart!
it's a hard feeling to describe & i don't think there is any measurement for love.
i'm just saying, i think i get it now...
